Serverless Cloud Resume Challenge — with Full Observability

AWS S3 | CloudFront | Lambda | DynamoDB | API Gateway | Terraform | GitHub Actions | CloudWatch

  • Hosted on AWS with a private S3 origin behind CloudFront (Origin Access Control), Route 53 DNS, and HTTPS-only traffic — no public buckets, no servers.
  • Real-time visitor counter: API Gateway → Python Lambda → DynamoDB, using atomic update expressions to prevent race conditions.
  • Added a full observability layer: structured JSON logging, EMF custom metrics, a CloudWatch dashboard, and SNS email alarms (Lambda errors, DynamoDB throttles, API 5xx, and a $2 billing cap).
  • Milestone alerts: every 100th visitor triggers a log entry, a custom metric, an email to me, and a 🎉 toast on their screen.
  • CI/CD with GitHub Actions and OIDC — unit tests gate every backend deploy, and no AWS credentials are stored anywhere.
  • All core infrastructure in Terraform; runs for under $1/month, enforced by a billing alarm.
